Youth Programs

Temple Beth Torah provides a variety of ways for teens to get involved, including serving as Madrachim, joining VCTRY (Ventura County Teen Religious Youth), and participating in social action through the L’Taken program. Additionally, Camp Haverim offers students aged 3-9 a summer experience focused on Jewish-themed STEM activities.

Madrachim

The Madrichim program engages teens in Jewish learning by assisting with various Torah School activities, including services, Hebrew lessons, holiday celebrations, and family education days. As they teach younger students, they reinforce their own understanding. This paid position allows teens to have fun while deepening their connection to Judaism.

This program is made possible by a generous grant from the Jewish Federation of Ventura County.

VCTRY

VCTRY Youth Group unites Jewish teens from the area, welcoming both members and non-members. It provides an LGBTQ+ safe space and is student-run, offering a variety of fun activities.

L'Taken program

The L'Taken Social Justice Seminar engages teens with public policy issues and the Jewish values of the Reform Movement. In partnership with the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism (RAC), participants present social justice topics to decision-makers on Capitol Hill.

Attendees will learn to craft impactful speeches for Senators and Representatives, with past participants having influenced significant legislative actions.

Camp Haverim

Camp Haverim has been in existence for over 40 years and offers children aged 3 to 9 an opportunity to connect with friends in the community, as well as participate in Judaic education, rituals, and services led by our lovely Cantor Robin. We will offer Jewish cultural and religious activities, Shabbat services on Fridays, and teaching the basic Hebrew Blessings.

A six-week program offers a range of traditional activities, including arts and crafts, athletic games, dance, gymnastics, STEAM, cooking, and Tikkun Olam (helping the world). Pick a week or more that fits into your schedule.
