High Holy Days 2011/5771-5772

No tickets are required to attend any service-worshipping with the Temple Beth Torah
congregation is our gift to our Jewish community these High Holy Days.
While tickets are not required for High Holy Day services, advance reservations are preferred.

S’LICHOT – Saturday, September 24
6:30–7:15 PM Young Families Havdalah in my p.j.s and Turning our Torah Mantles
9:00 PM S'lichot program-Dessert and concert featuring pianist Miriam Arichea playing
Gershwin, accompanied by Cantor Michael Anatole and Justice Steve Perren.
S'lichot services immediately following the concert approximately at 10:30 p.m.

EREV ROSH HASHANAH – Wednesday, September 28
8:00 PM Community Erev Rosh Hashanah Service-Creative liturgy,
Gates of Repentance Machzor not needed.
Services led by Rabbi Lisa and Rabbi Jordana, Cantor Michael and TBT Choir.

ROSH HASHANAH 1st Day – Thursday, September 29
10:00 AM Community Rosh Hashanah service.
 10:00 AM Children’s’ programming-service for children led by Rabbi Jordana, VCTRY kids.
At Noon, our children come to join us in Sanctuary for Torah reading and Shofar service.
4:00 PM Family Service at Marina Park-Rabbi Jordana
and Rabbi Lisa co-lead with Cantor Michael.
5:00 PM Tashlich service at Marina Park.

ROSH HASHANAH 2nd Day – September 30
10:00 AM. Community Rosh Hashanah service.

Graveside Memorial – Sunday, October 2 
12:30 PM  Brief, informal Graveside Memorial Service at Ivy Lawn and Makom HaShalom,
the Jewish section of Ivy Lawn. It is tradition to visit the cemetery during the
Ten Days of repentance and offer prayers-please join us,
regardless of where your loved ones have been laid to rest.

EREV YOM KIPPUR – Friday, October 7
8:00 PM  Evening service for Yom Kippur, including Kol Nidre.
It is appropriate to wear a talit this evening.

YOM KIPPUR – Saturday, October 8
9-9:45 AM  Family Service, led by Rabbi Lisa
and Rabbi Jordana, and Cantor Michael.
10:00 AM - Children’s’ Programming begins.
10:30 AM - 1:00 PM  Community Yom Kippur Service
1:30 – 3 PM  Forum
3:00 PM  Sanctuary Afternoon service, Torah reading
5:00 PM Yizkor service
5:30 PM Neilah,
followed by a break fast sponsored by WRJ.

SUKKOT 1st Day - Thursday, October 13
10:00 AM Services, including Hallel

EREV SHABBAT/SUKKOT 3rd Day - Friday, October 14
6:30 PM Dinner in the Sukkah
7:30 PM Services in the Sanctuary

SHABBAT/SUKKOT 3rd Day - Saturday, October 15
6:30 PM Dinner in the Sukkah

SIMCHAT TORAH/SHEMINI ATZERET - Thursday, October 20
10:00 AM Yizkor and Hallel Services
