Friday, Nov. 7, 7:30 p.m: A Shabbat Service with Footnotes – How and Why We Sit, Stand, and Bow. Whether you are brand new to the worship experience or an seasoned "daven"er, you're sure to learn something and have fun while Rabbi and Cantor explain the choreography behind a regular Friday night service.  After it ends at around 9 pm, we hope you'll stay for socializing and snacking at the Oneg afterwards.  Dress is business casual (leave your tie at home), tennis shoes optional!  Gift members please look for me that evening so I can record your attendance as participation credit.

Sunday, Nov. 9, 9:45 a.m: Intro to Judaism Classes Begin - Nov 9 = How We View God, Nov 16 = The Role of Torah, Dec 7 = Israel:  the Land, People, and State.  Please register in advance by calling the Temple office at 647-4181 or emailing TBT@TempleBethTorah.com.  There is no charge for these three classes and anyone interested in learning about Judaism, including non-Jews, may attend.

Friday, Nov. 14, 9:45 a.m: Basics of Judaism Classes Begin - This is a 12-session series covering topics such as Jewish holidays, marriage, life-cycle events, history, the Holocaust, and much more.  Email me if you'd like the complete schedule.  Even if you don't think you can attend every session, please go ahead and register for the series and then come to as many as you can.  Are you only interested in a couple of topics?

Then come to just those dates.  Basics of Judaism is free to members and open to Jews and non-Jews alike (textbook purchase may be required). These classes are a common requirement for anyone considering conversion. Please register in advance.

Havurot Formation get-togethers on different days will take place at the home of Arnel McAtee. (A Havurah is a group of Temple members who want to get together for friendship and socializing, often organized around a similar stage of life.) Most people say that belonging to a Havurah was the best benefit of their Temple experience. There is still time to be part of a new Havurah – just contact Arnel McAtee by email at TBT@TempleBethTorah.com.
