How to Join Us at TBT

We are delighted that you are interested in joining us at Temple Beth Torah. You can view and print our Membership Information brochure by clicking Here [Membership Info 10/2011 (PDF)*].

At Temple Beth Torah we want your heart before we ask you to reach into your wallet. We encourage you to meet our clergy and congregants, attend a few services or events, read our newsletter, and get to know us before making a financial commitment. Our Membership Chairperson would be happy to arrange for one of our many friendly members to meet you and serve as your ambassador.

To obtain a copy of our new membership registration form including our dues schedule, click Here [Membership Registration Form (PDF)*]. Please print the form, fill it out, and send to the Temple Beth Torah address shown at the bottom of the form. You may also fax the form back to us at 805 647-8438.

“Choose Your Own Dues” is available to people joining our Temple for the first time and is explained on the last page of the Membership Registration Form.  For subsequent years, we operate under a “Fair Share” dues plan; a system of contribution designed to allow Temple members to pay based on their ability to assume their fair share of the Temple’s operating expenses for salaries, programming, building maintenance and the like. Nobody will be denied membership in our community because of finances.

Please let us know if you would like to discuss our dues schedule or other financial commitment issues; call the Temple office at 805 647-4181 or send an email (Membership). We look forward to welcoming you into our TBT family.

*Adobe reader download instructions:

After downloading and installing the Reader, you will need to restart your computer. If you already have Acrobat or Acrobat Reader, click on the link below to read the Shofar of your choice. After viewing the Shofar(s), you will need to click the {BACK} button on your tool bar to return to this page.

A good way to get these large files on slower connections:

Don't click on the file you want to view, instead right click and pick "save target as" and pick a place on your hard drive to put it and press save. This will give you a dialog box with a progress graph and estimated time left. This is for MSIE but Netscape/Mozilla Firefox has the same feature but with different verbiage. Once the download is complete, start Acrobat Reader, pick file-open and browse to where you saved the file and pick it and push open.
