BROTHERHOOD is an organization where Jewish men come together to: socialize, build relationships, provide community programs, develop leadership, and support Temple Beth Torah.
We are part of MRJ, Men of Reform Judaism. MRJ provides us with regional events and national projects, such as: the Jewish Chataqua Society, Reform on Campus Program, and Walking Together Program.
The vision for Temple Beth Torah’s Brotherhood is to have every male member be a brotherhood member. Think of Brotherhood as a Men’s Havurah, a friendly group, where Jewish men feel welcome and comfortable. Our Meetings are held on the first Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in Meister Hall. Please join us.
We welcome participation in our ongoing programs: Sunday Brunches, Bowling Leagues, Temple Picnics, Food Share, Family to Family Breakfasts, production of our Temple Annual, Casino Nights, etc.

Temple Beth Torah Youth Groups
Beginning Youth Group/BYG (3rd through 5th grades): BYG, pronounced "big," is a cooperative youth group organized and facilitated by the parents of its members. BYG’s goals are primarily social in nature, with a monthly event or outing. BYG is a great way for our younger students to become familiar with Jewish youth grouping and having Jewish social time to spend with their temple friends.
Junior Youth Group (6th through 8th grades): The group concentrates on developing the youth groupers' leadership, independence, and responsibility to themselves and others. Meetings are held for conducting business, planning activities, developing relationships, and providing social opportunities. The group participates in Temple functions, fundraising, service projects, and social activities, including field trips and camping weekends. Dinner meetings will be held at the Temple on the second and fourth Wednesday evenings of each month from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Senior Youth Group -- VCTRY -- (9th through 12th grades): The full name of this youth group is VCTRY, which stands for the Ventura County Temple Reform Youth (VCTRY). The group concentrates on community-building and leadership. This is an opportunity for the individuals to try out their new skills among their peers and to go further in leadership skills and interests through the National Federation of Temple Youth: Southern California (NFTY). VCTRY is involved in community service, Jewish activities, weekend camping trips, social events, service to the Temple, and other activities. Over the years, VCTRY has consistently been rated as one of the most active NFTY-Southern California youth groups – a great achievement for our modestly-sized congregation and a great tribute to our advisors and temple youth. Dinner meetings are held on the first and third Wednesdays of each month from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
